Researchers and policy makers (Local, State and Federal Government and private sector, academics), with a stake in Local Government research relating to urban research in capital cities and other major regional urban centres.
REGISTRATION INFORMATION
Thank you for your interest in Unlocking the Data 2009. As we are preparing to move onsite, we are no longer accepting online registrations. However, you may register when you arrive at the conference. To accelerate the onsite registration process, please print off and complete a copy of the online form available below.

The staff at the registration desk will then be able to process your registration. The registration desk is located in the Corryong rooms on level 2 of the Melbourne Convention Centre, corner of Spencer and Flinders St.
Directions to the Corryong rooms:
From the main entrance to the Convention Centre, please follow the signs directing you up the escalators to level 3. Once on level 3, walk around the large white feature escalators on your left. Walk straight ahead until a corridor on your right. Walk down the corridor, all the way to the lifts. Take the lifts down to level 2. When you come of the lifts, follow the signs to the registration desk.
If coming from the Convention Centre car park: exit the car park on level 3. Walk through the Convention Centre, passing the coffee shop on your right and then through glass doors. Once through the glass doors, take a left down the corridor and walk all the way to the lifts. Take the lifts down to level 2. When you come of the lifts, follow the signs to the registration desk.

ENTITLEMENTS
Full Registration (Early Bird and Standard) entitles delegates to the following:
- Attendance at all conference sessions on Thursday 28 and Friday 29 May 2009
- Morning and afternoon tea on Thursday 28 and Friday 29 May 2009
- Lunch on Thursday 28 and Friday 29 May 2009
- Final conference program book and delegate satchel
- Welcome Reception on Wednesday 27 May 2009
- Conference Dinner on Thursday 28 May 2009
PAYMENT OF FEES
NOTE: Registrations will not be processed or confirmed until payment in full is received.
Payment may be made by cheque or credit card. Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Diners International are the only credit cards accepted at the Conference. Please note that all transactions by credit card will appear on your statement as payment to “The Meeting Planners.”
Cheques should be made payable to Unlocking the Data 2009. Your name and full address should be printed clearly on the back of the cheque. Cheques must be in Australian Dollars.
Please note that when registering online and using the cheque option, payment must be received by 11 May and within 20 days (whichever is sooner) of registering or the registration will be cancelled.

registration accompanied by cheque payment will incur AUD 10.00 processing fee.
Both credit card and cheque may be used for payment for online registrations.
You may not pay your fees by direct transfer.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
Your registration and payment will be acknowledged via email or post with confirmation of your requirements according to your registration form. Your registration will not be processed or confirmed if payment does not accompany your form.
You will not receive any further publications before the Conference. Your letter of acknowledgment will include any further advice necessary prior to your arrival at the Conference.
CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY
Cancellations received in writing at the Conference Office by 1 May 2009 will be accepted and all fees refunded less AUD100.00 administrative fee. Cancellations received after this date cannot be accepted and will not be refunded. However, transfer of your registration to another person is acceptable. The full name and details of the person that will replace you must be advised in writing to the Conference Office prior to the Conference. No refunds will be made for non-attendance at the Conference.
Registration Fees:
- Before 1 May 2009 will incur AUD100.00 cancellation fee.
- After 1 May 2009, there will be no refund.
Social:
- Payments are non-refundable as of 1 May 2009
ENTRANCE TO CONFERENCE
Each member of the Conference will receive a name badge on registration. The badge will be your official pass and must be w or n to obtain entry to all sessions and to social functions.
INSURANCE
Registration fees do not include insurance of any kind. It is strongly recommended that at the time you register for the Conference and book your travel you take out an insurance policy of your choice. The policy should include loss of fees/deposit through cancellation of your participation in the conference, or through cancellation of the conference, loss of international/domestic air fares through cancellation for any reason, loss of tour monies through cancellation for any reason including airline or related services strikes within Australia, failure to utilise tours or pre-booked arrangements due to airline delay, Force Majeure or any other reason, medical expenses (including sickness and accident cover), loss or damage to personal property, additional expenses and repatriation should travel arrangements have to be altered. The conference managers cannot take any responsibility for any participant failing to arrange their own insurance. This insurance is to be purchased in your country of origin.
PRIVATE TOURING / HOSPITALITY ARRANGEMENTS Should you have any specialised group requirements for private touring, transportation or hospitality services other than those organised for the official program, please contact the Conference Managers who would be pleased to assist with arrangements.
PRIVATE FUNCTIONS It is requested that you advise the Conference Managers of any private/corporate functions that might be planned outside of the official program. The Conference Managers would be pleased to assist with arrangements for any of these events.

PRIVACY
Australia introduced the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000 in 2001. The Conference Managers comply with such legislation which is designed to protect the right of the individual to privacy of their information. Information collected in respect of proposed participation in any aspect of the Conference will be only used for the purposes of planning and conduct of the Conference and may also be provided to the organising body or to organisers of future events. It is also usual to produce a ‘Delegate List' of attendees at the Conference and to include the individual's details in such a list. Consent for publication of the individual's information may be withheld when completing the Registration Form for the Conference. Individuals are also entitled to access the information held by written application to the Conference Managers.
